Privacy Screens - Size Guide & How to Measure Your Awning

There are two ways to measure your awning for a Privacy Screen:

Option 1:

Measure your roller bar (rollout awnings). This is the section of your awning where the material/vinyl is.

Tips for this method:

  • If the vinyl material on your awning measures 2.8m, order a 2.8m screen
  • Remember not to get confused with what size awning you have. Awnings are named by the whole size - post to post. Check the sizing below and get a tape measure out to your van if unsure.

Option 2:  Measure from post to post

a) Work out what size awning you have - and order based on the awning size you already have.

Tips for this method:

  • Awnings are measured in feet - don't ask why! So you will need to convert the measurement.
  • Awnings are named by their full size, which is from metal support arm to metal support arm. So, if you have a 15-ft awning, the measurement referenced is from one metal support to the other, which measures 4.57m or 15ft.

b) Measure from the center of each awning arm, giving you your overall awning measurement in feet.

c) Select the screen which suits that size (noting the screen width is a little smaller than the full awning measurement). For example, a 3.7m Privacy Screen suits a 13ft (3.96m) awning.
