Water spurting out between the fittings?

This is most likely caused by an incorrectly fitted Hose End Connector.

The process to correct this is as follows:

  1. Remove the Hose Connector from your hose:
    • Unscrew the nut
    • Submerge the entire fitting in boiling water for 10 seconds
  2. Re-fit the Hose Connector:
    • Cut the hose straight using a knife or scissors
    • Dip the end of the hose into boiling water to soften the hose end.
    • Push the hose down.
    • Screw on the connector.

Worn down inlet fitting/rubber ring?

The inlet fitting may be slightly worn down or the rubber ring may have deteriorated a little causing the brass connector not to get a good seal. This is normally the case with older vans.

  1. One way to test this is by connecting the leaking side back to the tap with the supplied adapter.
  2. If it's not leaking there, then the issue is with the inlet on the caravan, not the hose connector.
