Water spurting out between the fittings?
This is most likely caused by an incorrectly fitted Hose End Connector.
The process to correct this is as follows:
- Remove the Hose Connector from your hose:
- Unscrew the nut
- Submerge the entire fitting in boiling water for 10 seconds
- Re-fit the Hose Connector:
- Cut the hose straight using a knife or scissors
- Dip the end of the hose into boiling water to soften the hose end.
- Push the hose down.
- Screw on the connector.
Worn down inlet fitting/rubber ring?
The inlet fitting may be slightly worn down or the rubber ring may have deteriorated a little causing the brass connector not to get a good seal. This is normally the case with older vans.
- One way to test this is by connecting the leaking side back to the tap with the supplied adapter.
- If it's not leaking there, then the issue is with the inlet on the caravan, not the hose connector.
