We have had a couple of customers who were able to install the AFK on a Carefree Electric Rollout awning.
If you have the same type of awning it may be possible but we do not want to guarantee it as it has not currently been recommended and if you have problems with the installation you would not be able to return the AFK under warranty.
Important:
Any modifications would be at your own risk. You void the right of return and warranty if modifications are undertaken or the installation is done in a way that this not clearly specified in the user guidelines
As installation on an electric awning requires knowledge and skills beyond the standing fitting we do not recommend this installation and any installation of this type is not covered under warranty.
This is the feedback from one customer who was a tradie so had the necessary skills
The AFK installation was ok, it does work
Drilling into the roller tube is fine the led lights are not near the hole you have to drill.
The only problem is that at the top with the U bracket on the van. If you drill it into the sail track and when the electric awning goes back it doesn't go all the way because it hits the bracket.
If you put the U bracket under the sail track you are only drilling into the fiberglass of the van with no support.
I am going to re-install it under the sail track with a plate sikka to the van.
I hope that makes sense. Adam
